Privacy policy

Neither Dohyō nor Diodos Ghost collects, transmits or shares any personal data. This page is short because the apps are. The one thing we do hold is the email address of anyone who volunteers to test our games, and that is covered below.

What Dohyō collects

Nothing.

Dohyō has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs. It does not ask for any Android permission beyond what an app needs to run, and it does not request network access.

What Dohyō stores

The game keeps one file on your own device, in the app's private storage:

  • which opponents you have beaten and your record against each
  • your settings: language, theme, animation speed, reduced motion, and the music settings (volume, style, mood, repetition and soundtrack code)
  • any piece rosters you saved in the advanced draft

This file never leaves the device. Nobody, including the developer, can read it. Uninstalling the app deletes it, and the game's own settings screen can reset it.

Children

The game is not directed at children, collects nothing from anyone, and contains no advertising, no purchases and no way for one player to contact another.

Changes

If a future version of the game adds online play, it will collect something (at minimum an invite code and the moves of a game in progress), and this policy will be updated before that version is published, with the change described here rather than made quietly.

Diodos Ghost

Diodos Ghost collects nothing either. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs. It asks for no Android permission beyond what an app needs to run, and it does not use the network.

It keeps one file on your own device, in the app's private storage: your settings, your tutorial progress and the nights of the campaign you have held. This file never leaves the device, and uninstalling the app deletes it.

Like Dohyō, it is not directed at children, and it contains no advertising, no purchases and no way for one player to contact another.

The testers list

Players can volunteer to playtest our games by joining the Taflarium testers list. Joining is by email and needs a confirmation from your address, so nobody can add you without you.

  • What we hold: your email address, and anything you choose to write to us. Nothing else is collected.
  • Why: to invite you to test games before release and to ask for your feedback. It is not used for marketing and is never shared or sold.
  • Lawful basis: your consent, given when you join and confirm, withdrawn when you leave.
  • Where it lives: the list runs on Google Groups, so Google processes the messages under its own terms. Members cannot see each other's addresses.
  • How long: until you leave the list, or until the studio stops running playtests and deletes it.
  • Leaving: send one email from the testers page, or write to us. Removal is confirmed back to you.
  • Your rights: you can ask what we hold, have it corrected or erased, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how we handled it.
