Hnefatafl
The Viking siege game, on a board you can turn, with a carved set and four computer opponents. It is built and tested, and next in line for playtesting. Where it stands.
Playtesting · Every game we make
Every Taflarium game goes to testers before it goes to the store. If you would like to be one of them, join the testers list. One email joins it, one email leaves it, and we keep your address and nothing else.
Both buttons open a ready-made email in your own mail app. Nothing is sent until you press send.
How it works
Press Volunteer as a tester. Your mail app opens a message to the list's join address. Send it as it is.
Google Groups, which runs the list, replies asking you to confirm. Reply or click the link and you are on the list. Until you confirm, you are not, so nobody can sign you up by typing your address here.
You will hear from us when a game is ready to test: what it is, how to install it, and what we would like you to look for. Reply with what you find. When you want to stop, press Leave the list, send that email, and you are off it. Google confirms that too.
On the table

Our original two-player strategy game: six archetypes, one ringed board, four worlds. The closed test is running now on Android, and the current build is 1.0.6. If you have only just joined the list, give Google a little while to catch up before the link will let you in. Join the Dohyō test · Where it stands.
The list is one list. When a new game reaches the testing step it goes to the same people, and you choose per game whether you want in. No game is compulsory.
Feedback
Which music style suits Dohyō? The new Music screen (Settings, then Music) offers seven styles. Try Original, then Rock, then Jazz, in a game against the computer. Does the game still sound like itself? And does Tsugaru-jamisen sound like a real shamisen or like a keyboard imitating one? We have no way to measure this, so we need to hear it from you.
Is the Wildwood board right now? A tester found it far too dark, and 1.0.4 brightened it. Tell us whether it is now too bright, still too dark, or about right on your phone.
Anything else that annoys, confuses or amuses you is welcome too. It all goes to support@taflarium.com, which is the one place it stays in one piece and gets answered.
Please do not let the lists put you off. One line saying the draft screen is a mess on your phone is worth having, and I would rather hear it roughly than not at all.
Your address
What we keep: your email address, and nothing else. No name unless you sign one, no game preferences, no tracking of whether you opened anything.
What it is for: invitations to test Taflarium games and requests for your feedback on them. Not marketing, not a newsletter, and never passed to anyone else.
Who holds it: Taflarium is the controller. The list itself runs on Google Groups, so Google processes the messages under its own terms. Your address is visible to the list's owners and to nobody else on the list.
On what basis: your consent, which you give by joining and confirming, and withdraw by leaving. Joining is voluntary and you can leave at any time, for any reason, without asking us.
For how long: until you leave, or until the studio stops running playtests, at which point the list is deleted.
Your rights: you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. For anything the Leave button does not cover, write to hello@taflarium.com. The rest of our privacy policy, which is mostly about how little our games collect, is at privacy.html.
